Come Holy Spirit -
Unite us your people
Allow me to begin with a quotation from the Jul /Aug issue
of "Every Day with Jesus". In his introductory remarks Mick
Brooks, the Consulting Editor, writes, "What, I wonder,
would the apostles and Early Church leaders make of
contemporary church life? What are the vital, unchangeable
tenets, and what are cultural reflections of the day? In
this issue Selwyn (Hughes) explores some of the
characteristics of the early followers of Jesus in Antioch,
who were first recognized as ‘Christ ones' – Christians. And
he explores the idea of and calls for
"a re-formation of the church life" (emphasis, mine!). Mr.
Brooks concludes by praying that God would challenge,
refresh, and equip the people (us) so that in and through us
the world might be ‘turned upside down' (underlined by me).

Vision and Mission for
Christ Church ..
A Perspective
We need to only look around us to see the tremendous changes
that have taken place in our country, in our state and even
in Trivandrum and its suburbs, during the last decade. Some
senior citizens simply cannot believe it! As Lord Alfred
Tennyson said " The old order changeth yielding place to new
and God fulfills himself in many ways…….". The world of
Nature and man is constantly passing through changes.
Nothing remains nor can remain in the same state forever.
Such is God's ruling. Therefore Change is the only constant.
Change is also a challenge! But then change can be for the
good or for the worse. The fact of the matter is that with
globalization well entrenched in the country, ever since
India opened up its economy to the world
