Connect
Mark 12: 29-31 tells us to connect to God and our “neighbor”
with love and an open heart. Indeed, our love and concern must
extend to all living creatures, and to the earth itself, over
which we have been given the responsibility to act as stewards
(Gen: 2: 15). By participating in the Church service, by coming
together for Cottage Prayers in our Area Prayer Groups, by
extending our witness to those outside our Church, and by our
concern for our environment, we will be connecting in love with
God, our neighbours and the rest of God’s creation.
Grow
In Colossians 1: 10, Paul tells us “to lead a life worthy of the
Lord…….bearing fruit in every good work and increasing (growing)
in the knowledge of God”. The various Organizations of Christ
Church provide channels through which every member of the Church
from tiny toddlers (in the Sunday School) to those in the
evening of life (in the Golden Age Fellowship) can grow
spiritually and become active participants in the witness of the
Church. There are Organizations for the Youth, Young Couples and
their families, Women, and for those with special abilities or
interests there are opportunities in the Choir, the Almaya
Fellowship, Ecological Forum and Medical Forum.
Serve
In Peter 1: 10 – 11, we are told “As each has received a gift,
employ it one another…………..” with willing hands. Our service and
witness is not confined to the Church and its organizations. Our
hands reach out to those outside Christ Church through our
support to our Outstations, various mission fields, and through
such projects as Artificial Limb Project, the Poor Patients Aid Fund,
Marriage Help Fund for indigent couples, and Housing Help for
those desperately in need of a roof over their heads.
Go
In Matthew 28: 19 – 20, Jesus tells His disciples to “go…….to
all nations” with ready feet. It is our duty to witness to
Christ among non-Christians in our city and even beyond. We have
made a small beginning with our Food for the Needy Programme
(started in 2006) and our City Mission Project, which we hope to
launch soon.
